Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate healing in injured tissues. At Return2You, we use the EMS Swiss DolorClast machine; the most advanced and clinically proven shockwave therapy device available worldwide. This innovative treatment is ideal for people suffering from chronic pain, sports injuries, and a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions.
How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?
The EMS Swiss DolorClast machine delivers controlled shockwaves to the affected area. These waves penetrate deep into the tissue, increasing blood circulation and stimulating the body’s natural healing processes. This leads to pain relief, reduced inflammation, and accelerated tissue repair. Many patients experience significant improvement after just a few sessions.

Key Features & Benefits
-
Clinically Proven - Backed by extensive research and widely used by healthcare professionals; the EMS Swiss Dolorclast is NICE and FDA approved as a Medical Device.
-
Non-Invasive & Drug-Free - No surgery, no injections, and no medication required.
-
Fast & Effective - Shockwave sessions last 10-15 minutes, with many patients experiencing relief within weeks. Why wait months on NHS waiting lists!
-
Enhanced Healing - Shockwave therapy stimulates the body's natural ability to repair muscles, tendons and ligaments by producing an inflammatory response.
-
Minimal Downtime - Patients can resume daily activity immediately after treatment.
What To Expect During A Session?
During a shockwave therapy session, a handheld device is placed on the affected area. The machine delivers short, intense pulses of energy, which may feel like a tapping sensation. Some patients report mild discomfort, but most find the treatment tolerable. You will be asked how much pain you are experiencing throughout the session and the treatment intensity will be adjusted accordingly as required. After the session, you will be able to get up and walk immediately. You may experience temporary redness or soreness, which typically subsides within a few hours. You will be able to take over the counter medication such as paracetamol, but you should avoid non-steroidal anti-inflammatory or anti-coagulant medication such as ibuprofen or aspirin, or ice therapy which can intervene with the bodies natural healing process.
